The „Almabtrieb“ in Trodena/Truden

Every year, when autumn comes, the farmers bring their cattle down from the mountain pastures. This South Tyrolean tradition is called “Almabtrieb”. Gorgeously decorated cattle, horses and goats are walking through the narrow streets of our village and are welcomed solemnly by the spectators. During this event, some clubs- like our band, a group of children who present traditional dances or the “Goasslschnöller”, a special group of people who crap their whips to make impressing sounds- make those days an unforgettable experience.

The ‘Almabtrieb’ is a well-known event that is visited by many people from near and far. Don’t miss this unique kind of parade and celebrate with the villagers and guests!
